The name of your account or profile doesn't change - just the way it shows up at SL in the author columns. If you choose to create a new ID, I can adjust your post count so that you don't have to start from scratch if you want.

We were in Sheffield, Rotherham, York, Easingwold for a visit with family and to show our kids where we were married and lived. We're back in Canada now though. It was good to be back in North Yorkshire for a bit.)

I'm in Otley, near Ilkley. Where are you in Canada then? I visited there 2002, was in Edmonton for almost 3 months, love it there. The people are so lovely and OPEN! ;-) Dragonfly (soon to be Blue Butterfly .. I think ;-) )

While the old part of the city hadn't changed much, there was a lot of new construction just outside the centre. We've been to Otley - my husband has a friend there with whom he played in folk clubs in York and Leeds. We now live on Vancouver Island, on the West Coast of British Columbia. Of course there is a big difference between Yorkshire and where we live now. Mostly the difference in amount of people. But also, in Canada we humans aren't the top of the food chain, and our western culture is nothing more than a layer of veneer over nature, whereas it is rooted super deep in Europe.

You're so lucky to have all that fantastic scenery and wildlife, even if you're not top of the food chain anymore! .. and you know Otley too! :-) .. wonder's will never cease!! Haha

We lived in the centre of Victoria for a few years, but we were too enamoured with the little village where we live now to stay in the city any longer. Let me know what you decide regarding the name change. I'll be happy to accommodate. And I wish you beauty on the journey of the new name.
