On the one hand in the actual case in question I can see the benenfits.... But my over-riding feeling on this is to be concerned about what it could lead to: what if someone like Kim Jong-il (dictator of North Korea) were to get hold of this science and clone himself? And if there is a Supreme Deity which orchastrates the Cosmos, where does cloning leave us if Man is creating in this way? It is said in many cultures that Man is a co-creator, but is this a step too far?

I can see the medical advantages in the organ work they do: growing ears etc. for those who are disfigured or organ replacements etc. I can also see it as a means of supplying food to the needy in creating herds of cattle or flocks of poultry to feed the starving masses. So there are examples (beyond these) where I can see usefulness in the concept being employed. I also think there's a fear factor involved in this being abused as well as a moral fiber to it too. There's a dichotomy to my thinking based on the above issues and setting aside the morality enough to consider we are made in the image of Creator...as co-creators. In that respect I struggle to see if cloning is a part of that or not. In some ways I'm comfortable with it and in others I'm not. Posts: 1044 Jun 20, 2009 00:16:16 Honored Senior Member	I see benefits to cloning but it has always bothered me and I've never been excited about it, and because of its potential for such abhorable abuse I am not in favor of it. Besides that.....I eat processed food but I stay away from genetically altered food when I'm aware of it. Anyway, that is just me.

Posts: 551 Jun 20, 2009 18:29:52 Honored Senior Member	My simple thoughts. The exploration towards understanding shouldn't be controlled. While the intent to my mind is some what questionable; I also believe a a lesson will be learned. The person making this choice will pay alot of money to learn that life is more that just DNA and that ultimately diversity is a better path forth. That lesson will effect and be shared freely in the larger world. In reality, aren't we evolving to a place were we can all choose to stand in respect for diversity even as we center in oneness surrounded by the beauty of unique expression. From this place, I think a little neglect is wise and supports an appropriate path forward. Cloning will help cure many diseases; its the intent behind it that still might need a little tweeking. As I mentioned I clearly see benefit to cloning, but I strongly question the ability of people to not abuse it. I suppose I have a grand level of distrust with those who seek power and recognition through advancing science and technology, rather than those who develop those things for most part altruistically. It is all about intent, yes.
