I was talking with a friend when guidance broke through telling me she was 'tilted'. She was faced with a very difficult choice that had her going up and down a yo-yo string and swinging like a pendulum gone wild, but she was getting nowhere. I shared that I've always loved the twist on responsibility being nothing more than the ability to respond. It always felt so much 'lighter' seeing it from that perspective. Sometimes we get 'heavy' with our emotional attachments and forget we have a choice in how we respond to things…you know people, situations, circumstances, and some tough decisions at times. I got to thinking about that and how at the center of it all was choice. She was struggling very hard with that. So I asked her: 'How do you respond to the choices you make?' I mean where does the response come from? In the case of the 3-I's, if we are trying to do the best we can, we're going to see where our responsibility resides….to see how it affects us. But do we do that on the surface or do we delve deeper? If we go deeper do we go deeper into our emotions or our senses? If we are responsible to ourselves we are likely on the surface, and need to be delving deeper to the responsibility to the Self. In order to honor all that we are within as well as in relation to others or the world around us, we need to respond to the Self first. That means we back track from emotional response enough to find the logic and then balance it as we examine that choice…we're looking for that truth in it. We have to see the truth to speak it so we have to go Within settle the matter in our hearts…we have to look into them too…to see the value of being honest with our Self.
Our conversation ended there, however it left me thinking about people here at the Lodge that might benefit if I continued my thoughts. Here I am to take your arms and go wandering through my head again. I was thinking about how the Sacred Directions lead us to see through things to find the truth and how they teach perspectives so I went at 'Choice' and what people struggle to achieve with it. In looking at Choice…I mean in how we make it, well that often tests our integrity and usually when we have lost sight of it a bit or are about to if we're not careful. There's an advantage to seeing Choice as an integrity test. It keeps us focused on being centered better for one thing. LOL We can take a glimpse then, look to the other side of the choice for a moment before committing ourselves to something. What's on the other side waiting for us? Do we have options? What's on the other side of those options? Then we need to take that insight back to center…back within the moment with that in mind. From there we can go deeper within…take the information to our Self…We're going Within now so we need the space to do that. Make it if you have to.
Within…What's waiting there? That's where we're going to find our personal truths, and from there we bring them out to others. So if we think about Choice, what happens when we consider thinking about the self…the true Self within us? Well, this is a whole new slant on being selfish…we have just jiggled it a little to become Self-ish…our Higher Self is being recognized. Oh Stars! Does the spirit within ever love it when we pay attention! It loves to communicate when we listen and it will tell us so much! You'll probably feel it stir Within you.
So, walk with me here if you want to…Choice has now become the ability to respond to the Self to seek the truth within and honor it.
What now? The Self begins to speak indicating the need for a shift, a new question…do we respect the Self enough to do that honoring? Well, let's say we do…that means we're letting the Self get in the driver's seat, time to become the passenger. What can we see now? Look out the window. We have made a choice to walk in respect of our Self which is where the first 'I' comes from…Integrity. It's where the second 'I' comes from…Intent. It's where the third 'I' comes from…Impeccability. We have the 3-I's and they help us unlock our Third Eye too…when we start to look through it that way, suddenly the spirit Within starts to show us all sorts of things. It begins to really trigger the senses when we start to see these things…telling us what those things are all about. It begins to show us how to read our own radar blips and the screen they're on and what the sensory control panel does. We learn to pinpoint with accuracy when we raise our awareness to this level and we make better choices when we get to know our Self this way. Communication with Self is awesome! It also allows us to connect deeper with our Guides, Spirit Helpers, Mother and Spirit. This is just the springboard.
What else is Choice? Isn't it how we choose our approach a big part of all that? It sure is. And when we are feeling a bit 'off track', struggling with a choice, we need to Choose to center and get back to responding to the Self. That's where our Free Will comes into play. It will let us know, we'll sense something's off and if we don't know what it is it's likely in us that we'll find it. We'd better center and go look. Look into our hearts and our heads and see where our emotions are sloshing (they trigger issues we need to look at) or if it is really our senses going off and the Self is trying to tell us something. We know what it feels like when something good is coming and we know what it feels like if things are going to be getting rough around us…in any given situation…but only when we pay attention to the rhythm of the energy running through us and the messages it holds. So we look to the Self to see where it needs to be in the midst of what is calling for us to make a good Choice. If the emotions are getting to sloshing inside it's a bit of a personal red flag. We're mighty apt to ignore the senses, deny the truth, and wish we hadn't. How many times have you second-guessed your Self? I bet you can remember some doozies. I sure can.
We choose for ourselves in any given situation all day long, but how often do we choose for our Self? Can you answer that? I'm being rhetorical here for a reason. I want you to think about that…to be aware of that…to raise your awareness with that focus if you're not already doing it. I'd like to challenge anyone who would like to see their radar kick in, and feel what the energy signatures feel like, or even sharpen old skills to try a little exercise.
Take the 'Awareness Test' (I'm coining this right now! LOL). Take the Awareness Test and simply focus on being 'aware of the choices' you make for three days. That's all, just be aware of them and simply observe your Self. If you have free time observe the choices you've made in the past to explore the exercise that way. Perhaps look into the choices you know are coming up. But observe through the eyes of the Self and the truth within, and what it's telling you compared to how things did unfold, how they are unfolding, or how they are likely to unfold based on what your Self is saying. Then observe more, watch the validations come in, or jiggle what you're getting into place better…based on where you were 'off'…that's where you need to get back on track with this.
How do we see truth…the Truth Within? Hmmmmmm what does that look like? 'What does it 'feel' like?' is one question to ask your Self and become aware of. Ever felt a tingly warm sensation? Senses. Ever felt a cold icy sensation? Senses. Ever felt a queasy sensation? Senses. Ever felt a crawling sensation? Senses. What are your senses telling you and what's triggering them? You're the co-pilot now, your Self is driving this vehicle…it is triggering them so you will pay attention, follow along and observe where it's taking you. Ride the energy letting the Self drive you for a moment or two and see where the energy takes you. Pay attention. Raise your awareness and trust the truth of what you are sensing. Pay attention to 'a-l-l' your senses and observe it playing out according to the choices you make. If you're looking back then ask some questions: Why did you choose to respond to the choice in the manner you did? Was it good for you? Did it lead you into challenges and therefore learning experiences? Was it painful? Who to? To you or to someone else? Did you grow or diminish your Self? If you grew your energy grew lighter and brighter, if you diminished your Self you also diminished the energy within…you dim-in-ished your light. Did you injure your Self in anyway? Did you heal your Self in anyway? What do your senses tell you about then and now? Trust what you're getting.
Trust it, yeah, that's tricky sometimes too. Ego has two extremes and the Self/spirit is in the center of the two. One is a high spiking arrogance and the other is low into a plummeting and they spike back and forth sometimes. You could grab the image of waves at sea, sometimes calm, sometimes rough. When the truth comes into the light through the Self feel the waves, what are they doing? What are you being shown this way? We have to be willing to See it, not deny it; and the ego will deny when it doesn't like what it sees triggering an emotional reaction and the waves start to slosh. We have to be willing to see it and then embrace it to BE truthful then. That means embracing or learning to ride atop the waves or float in calm seas. When we can float with the emotions we can center them, get back out of their depths and surface. Others might relate to watching radio signals on a screen and tune them into a wavelength. Either way, that's our integrity coming back at us; it wants to get outside the Self into the world…our choice becomes balanced with that in-sight.
If we're truthful with the Self then we can bring that out and be truthful with others. We have to tame our emotions and they love attaching to the ego, don't they? Emotions can take us into such hasty decisions and as often as not, they can make us wish we'd taken that moment or two to center and think before we made our choice. Recognize what is sensation and what is emotion. So trusting the senses helps us keep our emotions in check and we need to know the difference between the two. The Self keeps yourself in check, and when you are you are 'Centered'. It's there that we can find just how high we can raise our awareness, and how far out into the light of truth that will take us. The Choice then, easy or needing to be as tactful as possible, will be well-made. We will be back to responding to the Self, choose wisely for ourselves, choose wisely when it comes to others and do so in honesty…we're honoring then…honoring the Self and the greater good the truth has shown us..Yes, our Choice is wise when it is Self-ish and we have the ability to respond wisely.
Who wants to take the Awareness Test?
