Energy weaving is an act we engage in consciously or unconsciously…I say this because it is our thoughts backed by our intentions that set that energy into motion. If we focus on it we can direct it. However, if we think about things and do not focus the release of that energy it goes out randomly and can target anyone we have in mind as well as others. Thoughts are things, they contain that emotional energy impact and will carry it forward so it's important to be aware of this and use that energy wisely.
What we send out will also return to its source; that means it returns to us in one form or another as a consequence for good or bad. How often have you heard someone say "Why is this happening to me? There's no reason for it." Perhaps there is, we don't often look to ourselves as the source of our issues when in fact we are often the cause. We are the cause of our thoughts and actions, those actions have an effect on those around us as well as our environment. As they return to us we encounter the retribution for them-for good or for bad. Throughout this article I'll be touching on Universal Law as it relates to energy and the direction it takes. I'd like to begin with the simple ways of life we are all familiar with to give you something to base the concepts on.
In the ways of Women's Medicine the weaving of energy is often incorporated into daily duties, the mundane tasks we do out of habitual behavior where we're free to let our minds wander. Naturally we can weave energy with full intent setting aside time and space for that purpose both formally or informally; but, it can also be accomplished throughout the course of the day. I want to bring this to your attention because so often I hear people asking questions like: "How can I incorporate my spirituality in my daily life?" or "What good does this knowledge do me?" or they will relegate spiritual concepts to the spiritual domain and not see that it's just as applicable in the physical reality. For instance, we love our families and prepare meals for them with care and love, seasoning them with our intentions as well as the spices in the cupboard. We may not bring that love to full conscious awareness in the sense that we're directing energy into the food but our energy is involved and the essence of it enters into the meal we fix. When we do that with love our family will respond telling us what a wonderful meal we've prepared, even if it's a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it tastes wonderful. When we do household chores it's the same thing, or when our children come crying with a scraped elbow, perhaps hurt feelings, we kiss them away with love. The compassion and nurturing in the love instantly heals when they're little. I remember when my mother kissed my brother's broken collar bone unaware it was broken and he ran off to play. Three days later, painlessly, his shagging shoulder had him at the doctor's office. There is magic in a mother's kiss or touch no matter what she does. That's energy in motion.
Why am I talking about mundane things when it comes to weaving energy? Because we put our energy into everything we do consciously or not. Our emotional state often dictating unconscious intent will affect the outcome of our efforts. If we're preparing a meal in anger odds are that meal is going to be burnt or just not turn out right must to the disdain of those we're serving it to. In times past the weaving of energy was often done as women did their sewing or weaving of garments to protect their loved ones. They stitched the energy with intent into the tapestries and in this way created thought-forms that took on their own essences. We weave energy into our sacred tools when we craft them, and we do that with focus imbuing them with our intent and basically consecrating them (often with a ritual to go along with that) to specific tasks.
Weaving energy does not just belong to the dimensions of spirit but in our everyday lives too and so often I hear people saying something like: "I don't have time to focus on my spiritual work, I'm too busy for that." … or … "How can I bring my spirituality into my daily life?" It's there already; all you have to do is raise your conscious awareness to see it is in motion at all times. Look at yourself in the course of just one day. Watch how your moods, emotions, and action produce results and what those results bring and you'll see how you use your energy on unconscious levels. From that observation you can shift to a more conscious intent and direct your moods or emotions and intentions in positive light. When you do the negative results you may not have consciously intended will start to neutralize and change to more positive developments. This is something you can think through or actually use as an exercise. We use energy in everything we do. So where does your energy go? Where does the spiritual aspect of this come into play?
Weaving energy, when one is consciously walking with their spirituality, becomes a way of life. We use what skills we have to the best of our abilities, with the highest intentions, and apply our knowledge to doing so. Energy is set in motion the moment we start to think and act on something. Focus is set in motion the moment we start to think of some individual or thing. Why not think with intent when we set that energy into play and direct it with the focus of a positive will? Either way we're causing things to change, we may as well do it to the fullness of our capabilities. Women have done this throughout the ages; they accepted the energetic realities as a fact of life and utilized them for optimum results…results that conformed to their will. In essence they were intending their will be done. Don't you do that yourself as second nature? Why not make it a conscious decision?
Creative imaginations are applied to challenges throughout the day to bring about change and resolution. What if you applied the basics of spiritual foundations to that same process? A quick centering and scan of any given situation through the Seven Sacred Directions and the perspectives they bring into play allows a complete picture to be taken in and the best course of action to achieve the results is right there with it. We mix ingredients in our dinner, often without a recipe because we know how to prepare familiar meals. When we mix the Sacred Directions and their energies into our intentions we combine our knowledge and skill and produce even better results. The meal is thus a huge success, those dining rave about it, and we clear the table with a smile and often someone saying: "Here, let me help you with that, what a great meal you prepared!"
In the tedium of crafting, where we perhaps sew out of habit or fashion meticulously as we knit without looking, our mind is free to wander. Women have traditionally stitched, woven, sewn, painted, beaded etc. with intent and in that imbued the items with energy based on the essence of their intentions. This is found in the sacred crafting of tools, be that a rattle, a shawl, a dance costume, ceremonial robe, hair items, belts, shields or what have you…they incorporate spiritual arts in the course of their mundane lives; it is a way of creating in the world, drawing in the energy with focus as we send it back out into the handling of things that we gift to others…be that an item or a meal, it is crafted with intent and with love to serve the highest good. In this sense, the weaving of energy becomes spiritual art, whatever we fashion is infused with that energy and the energy is 'set' with our intent. Others who receive what we produce are going to feel that essence and it will have an impact on them.
Energy carries information and what we produce with it communicates that information in some form. Be it the
healing arts, the ritual fashioning of tools and ceremonial garments, or the simple serving of a meal…what we put into it is what others will get out of it.
For communicating that energy and the information it contains there needs to be coherence in meaning behind what we're doing, an understanding of the
spiritual laws that bring forth the consistency in the work we do and what we accomplish with it. This is what gives it form, and we weave energy from many
sources. We may draw from Spirit and the universe pulling in Source Energy to co-create and manifest, but we also draw from the elemental forces.
Quite often we draw from our own emotional state of being and infuse all that we touch with that source of creation. What do those forces put into play? How do their attributes affect what we're doing and what happens when we mix them all up? Do we know what we're doing or are we just grabbing things and tossing them into a pot hoping the concoction turns out well? What if it doesn't? We can't just toss it out, it's being served in some manner to someone or something and those results can have a backlash. Have you ever seen an angry customer lob a poor meal to the floor or at the cook? What we send out comes back to us and understanding the elements of energy is vitally important to how we compose things.
There are principles behind these energies that have to be understood to work with them successfully. Study of the
energy comprising each of the elemental forces teaches us those principles and we experience them as we study. In that process we learn to utilize them one at
a time and then in combination we learn where each either compliments or creates volatility so we know how to measure what we're formulating. Careful
selection and practical application is going to bring about form in some manner…what we put into it is what will come out of it.
Women have long understood the ways of the weaving of this energy and applied it well in very unique creations.
The more focused the intent and awareness of directing it the more we can imbue with the energy. Intent then is important. Calling upon our Spirit Helpers to
assist us is done with awareness and intent because they too have their own agendas and wasting their time or assistance is not a good thing. We call upon them
when we 'need' their help, not because we're lazy but because we cannot accomplish something on our own and in most cases we can do it on our own
if we understand the properties and principles of the elemental forces and universal energies.
The adherence to Universal Laws, understanding their cause and effect and deliberate use of their energy or powers is just wise use in any case. Every time we take an action we create an impact and a rebounding effect because in the end everything we do comes back to us in one manner or another. Universal Law states that all things return to their source somehow. Send out negative energy and that hamburger comes flying back in our face or a strong verbal complaint is directed at us…we weren't expecting that were we? Nope, but it happens. We live in a multi-dimensional universe and in that what we do permeates other dimensions as well as our own. I think it wise to know what we're doing and why.
As Above, So Below; As Within, So Without; Macrocosm and Microcosm. Energy permeates and it is present in the
Oneness internally and externally, in this dimension and in others….multiple realities co-existing in time and space-and outside it, what some call the
Holographic Universe. Matter informs Spirit and Spirit informs matter, energy contains information and conveys it. Believe…Mind takes control over matter. What
we conceive, and believe, we can achieve. Have you heard of that before? I'll bet you have on countless occasions but have you applied that concept to what
you do? It's important to do so when we are weaving energy or working on spiritual development personally because we must be open to experiences and
concepts to explore them and learn about them.
We control our focus with our minds, and if we believe in what we're doing that mind holds a great deal of
control with our eye on successfully accomplishing our goals. While there are multiple realities a very good example (other than dimensional realities) is to
look at those around us, we all live our own reality…our own DreamWeave either by intent or by unintentionally ignoring the fact, but that reality is based on
each of us in what we experience for ourselves. As a result of those experiences how we respond to them affects the way we come through them and what we are
either willing to learn in the process or refusing to learn and therefore will continue to repeat by experience until we do.
What about mind over matter? Well when you're out of your mind it really doesn't matter as an old friend of mine used to say. The truth is, that what we believe to be true is going to determine the success or failure and belief is imperative to what we focus on, how we think and what we act upon. In order for the mind to have control over matter we must have control of our minds, and the mind is a warrior in its own right, it's always ready to fight for what it believes to be real and restrict what it accepts until that's proven. For this reason we need to prove the Universal Laws exist and we do that through the study of the elemental forces and energies they contain as well as those that exist dimensionally throughout the universe.
Imagination is a creative tool, we use it to conceive and open to inspiration, but imagination applied in the
weaving of energy and actions we take in the physical sense combines to bring forth form as well. The mind conceives, the body experiences and the mind
believes based on experience.
Learning about energy and Universal Law will allow the mind to expand by opening the door to those dimensional
realms and energies becoming part of our individual realities, we can conceive them, believe them, and weave them to achieve limitless success in life. The
mind controls the body-voluntarily and involuntarily. Learning to control our more primal nature and raise our conscious awareness to tame it is important for
We must know ourselves to know what we're doing, to understand why we act in certain ways and then discipline ourselves with higher awareness to overcome those primal urges and knee-jerk reactions. It is how we balance ourselves and maintain an honorable path in life. It's the higher awareness combined with discipline that allows us to hone our natural abilities and merge them with our knowledge to manifest our lives day in and day out with control-control of ourselves rather than others. We are responsible for our own actions as others are responsible for theirs.
We need to believe in Universal Laws to work with them, we need to accept that they exist and the only way to do
that is to understand them-and the fact that each law we encounter is energy-based. Everything that exists is comprised of energy, energy cannot be destroyed
but it can be changed. We all learn this in school and if you take that principle one step further you'll see it pertains and permeates into all
dimensional realities. It's our spirit which is pure energy that travels in shamanic journeys to other dimensional realities and explores them.
Through those shamanic experiences we question the realities, continue to explore them, and validate what we are experiencing. We come to believe in those realities because time and again we tap into them. For someone who dismisses those experiences as fantasy the realities will become just that…a fantasy…that's what they believe them to be. They essentially block themselves from entry at that point and confine themselves with a self-imposed restriction to reside only with the physical reality. It takes an open mind, a willingness to experience, a desire to explore, and active intent to permeate dimensions-or to direct through our will/intention into or through other dimensions…including time, space, and alternate universes. We can and do experience these other realities, but it's up to us to accept them…to believe in them.
If you don't believe in what you're doing then doubt begins to surface and with that the pattern you weave becomes disrupted and blockages are created. Think about it…if you stand up from your chair and choose to walk across the room and start to doubt your ability to take another step you're going to stall that motion aren't you? If you believe you 'can't' do something then you won't be able to achieve it. Believe that you 'can' and you're going to succeed. It might take you a few attempts in the process but that's merely the process of creating a stronger intent and focus to do so. Sometimes things call for extensive focus and great effort on our part to achieve them but achieve them we can.
Weaving energy requires a mind that believes, a will driven by intent, and actions fueled by our passion-passion
ignited by our emotions…feelings of love, compassion and desire. Emotions balanced with the believing mind allow us to feel the essence of what we're doing
and imbue it into our actions. We literally 'feel the energy' we're working with and we literally 'see' that energy conforming to and
bringing about the results we desire.
By gathering to ourselves an understanding of Universal Laws and the knowledge of how they play into one another
(something we do as we come to understand the Seven Sacred Directions and their attributes) we gather knowledge to ourselves. As we explore we gain and gather
experiences that expand our beliefs because of the realities we're exposed to. This knowledge, along with the acceptance and belief we hold about it,
allows us to gain control of our abilities and interactions with the spiritual side of life. At that point we are able to co-create and give form to our
desired will manifesting results in the physical reality.
This knowledge is power, and with that power we wield the knowledge. It is therefore vitally important that we not
only come to know the Universal Laws, but come to know the truths within us…to know ourselves. It is a Universal Law that as we gain knowledge we will be
tested in using it. If we use it inappropriately our abilities can be stripped from us or lost to us. Our Spirit Helpers can and often do refuse to support our
efforts. If we use it inappropriately we will certainly corrupt the path we walk and face those consequences at some point, if not several points along the
way. We will be tested. We need to learn to test ourselves too, to see where we hold strengths and weaknesses and continually improve on the weaknesses or use
our strengths to counter balance them.
We need to know our capacity to hold this energy and direct it, the limit of our capabilities and what we need to
build upon, and be aware of how to do that. Each of the Sacred Directions offers us the means to do that, each is an extensive resource for self-improvement
and we need to focus on ourselves before we begin to focus on the world around us. Therefore, we should establish discipline and training to grow and gather
the knowledge we need to weave energy appropriately. Working with the Sacred Directions and the Medicine Wheel allows us to do just that. It creates a
dimensional university of sorts and allows us to tap into multiple dimensions and realities filled with wonder and the ability to gain the knowledge we need.
In the course of this study we encounter our Spirit Helpers…Guides, Teachers, Guardian Spirits, and the entities
that inhabit these realms all of which assist us to understand and gather the knowledge we are seeking. They help us learn and hone our abilities, steer us
through experiences, and assist us in any way they can but they will 'Not' do the work for us. We have to take that responsibility on ourselves. They
will encourage and assist but they will insist we be active in our participation too. In this way we learn to perfect ourselves, our abilities, and our
understanding of energy and the weaving of it. With that comes not only belief but respect for that energy and the results of moving it. We can use it to heal,
to connect, to create, to explore, and to evolve when we apply ourselves to those goals.
It's no different than learning to drive a car, we learn how it operates so that we can operate it and we
practice until we pass the test and get a license. Then, behind the wheel and on the road, our knowledge becomes focused and intent to go somewhere is fueled
by our desire; combined we determine the quality of our driving and the successful arrival at our destination. The more we practice the better we become at our
rate of success and the quality of what we produce.
Prayer is a form of energy weaving and has been proven today in laboratory experiments over Petri dishes with
cells in them and over patients in hospitals. Those experiments have proven that when good intent is directed through prayer (meditative focus) the will of the
individual praying infuses the cells or the patient with positive energy. The results have shown themselves as more rapid and stronger cell growth and better
healing processes for the patients.
On the other hand, these same experiments have been done with ill intent. Sending negative thoughts/energies out
rather than positive ones has produced decreased growth in cells if not destruction of them, and it has produced deterioration in the health of houseplants. In
this we see how the energy we can't see physically in all cases does exist and does have an impact on our success in achieving our goals.
Energy is everywhere and as we act that energy is stirred, directed and released. As we think it is set into focus
and as we intend based on our thoughts we set it in motion. Speaking our thoughts sets things in motion just as much as our actions do. Thoughts are things,
words have power, and our intent determines what those things and powers produce. Learning to know yourself, understand the Universal Laws, and weave your
energy well is an asset. Learning what it is you call upon beyond your own energy and what you tap into so that you know what that energy will produce is an
Random acts, conscious or not, produce random results and often will backfire on us so it's important to
understand yourself and how you relate to the world around you, the impact you wish to have on that environment and those within it, and how you will go about
achieving your will.
From simple thoughts to complex ceremonial rites, energy is woven and set in motion day in and day out. How do you
weave your energy? If you don't know, find out, and the door to that process of discovery opens to you with the Sacred Directions and the Medicine Wheel.
Know that when you undertake that course of study it will change you, change you for the better, you'll still
be you but you'll have grown, evolved, and raised your conscious awareness to new levels. As a result you will be more centered, more balanced, more in
control of yourself, your life, and your relationships. You will act with conscious intent rather than unconscious responses and see for yourself that life
just keeps expanding from there.
The best part of this course of study is the fact that you find it serves as a Bridge to Spirit…to that one on one
relationship that blesses and enlightens. In that process you discover your purpose in life, the path you're walking takes on meaning and a way of serving
the greater whole begins to emerge.
The spirit worlds are all around us, comprised of different energy vibrations and densities; we can explore each and every one of them discovering that they are all part of a greater whole, a much bigger picture of what really exists. Learn to weave your energy well and to produce the results you want to bring into being through proper action and honoring the Universal Laws. Those laws will be good to you; they will bring forth rewards and blessings not only for you but for all who cross your path.
